Kabul — Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health Noor Jalal Jalali met India’s Chargé d’Affaires Yatin Patel to discuss expanding health cooperation.
The Afghan ministry said Jalali requested further support for Indira Gandhi Hospital, vaccines against communicable diseases, advanced equipment for a cancer hospital, health-worker capacity building and a thalassemia department at Indira Gandhi Hospital.
Patel said India would continue supporting Afghanistan’s health sector, including assistance for the hospital, the thalassemia department, chemotherapy medicines, radiotherapy equipment and training.
The meeting reflects official commitments to expand cooperation. Individual supplies and projects will still require implementation and delivery.
