Dera Bugti — Margalla News: An armed attack on the residence of Dera Bugti District Council Chairman Ghulam Nabi Shambani and a gas company camp in the Loti area led to a prolonged exchange of fire.
Dawn, citing police officials, reported that eight suspected attackers were killed. One member of the Bugti Peace Force, identified as Fazal Khan, was killed and three others were wounded.
Reports differ on the number of suspects detained. Dawn cited police as saying seven were arrested, while a later report cited six arrests. The detention figure is therefore being presented as disputed.
Earlier, Dunya News had reported 13 attackers killed, citing tribal sources. A later police account put the number at eight, and this update gives priority to the more recent police figure.
Officials said heavy weapons were used during the fighting and that some attackers fled after the initial exchange before further clashes were reported.
No armed group has claimed responsibility. The attack is therefore not being attributed to any specific organisation, including the BLA.
