A battery manufacturer in Afghanistan's western Herat province says it has exported a shipment of Green Energy Plus batteries worth $2 million to Arab countries. Bakhtar News Agency reported the details on October 6, citing company head Abdul Mateen Qalandari.

Qalandari said the shipment was the company's fourth export consignment to Arab markets and that the firm is seeking to expand foreign sales while continuing to supply the domestic market.

Bakhtar also reported that the company produces about 4,000 batteries a day and employs around 550 people. Those production and employment figures were provided by the company and local officials.

Qalandari said the products meet relevant quality standards and carry a one-year warranty. Herat governor's spokesman Mufti Yusuf Saeedi said the local administration supports domestic production and efforts to facilitate exports. The $2 million shipment value is attributed to the company.
