Ansar Allah-linked sources claim Houthi forces have captured Jabal Al-Habashi from forces aligned with Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council on the Taiz front. Footage and images said to show the advance have circulated alongside the claim.
The assertion of full control over Jabal Al-Habashi has not been independently verified. Reuters and the Associated Press have, however, separately reported intensified fighting around Taiz, Houthi advances and escalating clashes with government-aligned forces in recent days.
Reuters reported that Yemen's internationally recognised government said it carried out multiple air strikes on Houthi targets in Taiz province as fighting intensified. AP has also described renewed fighting near Taiz and road closures linked to the worsening security situation.
The Jabal Al-Habashi control claim is therefore being treated as an attributed Ansar Allah claim rather than a confirmed territorial change. The frontline remains fluid and further independent evidence or official battlefield mapping would be needed to establish control conclusively.
