New Delhi/Kathmandu — Margalla News: At least 19 people have been killed in India and Nepal after heavy rain triggered flooding and landslides.
Reuters reported that 15 people were killed and five injured in India's Uttar Pradesh state over the previous 48 hours, while 117 houses were damaged.
In Nepal's Baglung district, a landslide buried a house, killing four people, including three children and a woman.
Ten Nepali workers were also reported missing after an avalanche buried the base camp of the 7,126-metre Himlung Himal in Manang district. Officials said foreign climbers were not at the camp at the time.
Nepali authorities warned of possible flash floods in 49 of the country's 77 districts, while multiple river-monitoring stations in India recorded water levels above danger marks.
