India's Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will hold talks in Mumbai on October 20, an Indian foreign ministry spokesperson said on Friday.
Discussions are expected to cover key areas of bilateral cooperation, including energy, trade and investment, defence, and critical and emerging technologies, spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told reporters during a briefing.
Rubio is visiting India for a second time this year, skipping New Delhi on this trip and travelling to Mumbai and Jamnagar. The US has said the visit aims to strengthen the US-India strategic partnership, exchange views on regional and global dynamics, and discuss prospects for enhanced energy cooperation.
The meeting comes as both countries seek to expand economic engagement, including on energy supplies and technology cooperation.
