BANNU: According to War Monitor, allegations over the deaths of two minors in Bannu district have prompted calls for an independent and transparent investigation.

Circulating reports say the two boys, aged 16 and 14 and reportedly from the Mandio area, were allegedly taken away by members of the Bannu Peace Committee, and their bodies were later recovered.

The reports also say the father of one of the boys died several days later, adding to the family's hardship.

War Monitor says the circumstances of the deaths and the allegations against the peace committee have not been independently established. No response from the peace committee or the district administration was available. Authorities have been urged to investigate and determine responsibility.
