The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has released new photographs of a specialised unit it calls a "Special Martyrdom Force", according to sources. The images show armed men in military-style uniforms, tactical vests and helmets, carrying light and heavy weapons.
The released scenes also depict physical drills, martial arts and military-style training. Sources say the purpose of the release, and the exact location and timing of the training, could not be independently verified.
Pakistani security authorities have not yet issued any official statement on the new images. The claims remain unverified by independent sources.
