United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will make an official visit to Pakistan from October 6 to 8, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry announced on October 5.
The ministry said Guterres is visiting at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. During the three-day visit, he is scheduled to meet Pakistan's president, prime minister, deputy prime minister and foreign minister, as well as the Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff.
Guterres will also visit the headquarters of the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan and receive a briefing at Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority on disaster preparedness and early-warning efforts.
The Foreign Ministry said regional and international developments and Pakistan's cooperation with the United Nations will also be discussed. Outcomes will depend on the meetings held during the visit.
