Afghanistan and Russia have discussed expanding bilateral trade, increasing Afghan exports and bringing Russian machinery and modern technology into Afghanistan. Ariana News reported that Industry and Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi met a delegation from Russia’s Chelyabinsk region.
The talks covered business coordination, Afghan exports to Chelyabinsk, imports of Russian machinery and technology, and improved banking cooperation. Azizi also said Afghanistan was ready to consider a distribution centre for Russian goods and a market for Afghan products in Chelyabinsk.
The Russian delegation invited Afghan officials and private-sector representatives to visit the region. No new large investment contract or binding financial commitment was announced during the talks.
