Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health has launched an open recruitment process for nearly 5,000 vacancies at central and provincial levels. Officials say the aim is to strengthen professional capacity in hospitals and health institutions through merit-based hiring.
The positions include specialists, doctors, supervisors, laboratory staff, X-ray and anesthesia technicians, orthopedic technologists, physiotherapists, civil engineers and administrative and support workers. The ministry also announced 1,200 administrative and health-information positions and around 1,800 professional provincial posts.
Officials said nearly 1,800 newly created or vacant positions at Al-Shifa Hospital will also be advertised during the year. Recruitment is expected to use education, qualifications and specified eligibility criteria.
