Karachi — According to the latest figures from the State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistanis working abroad sent home a combined $10.9 billion between July and September 2026. That is 14% higher than the corresponding period in the previous financial year.

An October 10 Dawn report said receipts in September alone amounted to $3.6 billion, up 12.7% year on year but down 1.9% compared with August. Saudi Arabia remained a major source, while remittances from the United Kingdom recorded rapid growth.

Higher remittance inflows can support external payments, but the overall economy must also be assessed through exports, imports, debt, inflation and foreign exchange requirements.
