SWAT: According to War Monitor, Swat police said three suspected militants were killed in a joint intelligence-based operation by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and district police in Sakhadob, within the jurisdiction of Kanju police station.

Police identified those killed as Abdullah son of Syed Bashir, Mansoor Ali son of Abdul Mutalib, and Ghufranullah son of Afzal Khan.

Police alleged the men belonged to a TTP faction led by Muzaffar alias Khalid and were involved in attacks earlier this year. They said two suspects escaped and weapons were recovered.

TTP spokesperson Muhammad Khorasani rejected the police account, alleging that the three were students already in custody who were killed in a staged encounter.

The conflicting accounts have not been independently verified. The original report is available on War Monitor.
