BALOCHISTAN: According to War Monitor, Pakistan's military media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said security forces killed eight suspected Baloch separatist militants during three intelligence-based operations in Quetta, Nushki and Khuzdar districts on October 17.
ISPR said five militants were killed in Panjpai, Quetta, during an operation against an attempted roadblock. Two others were killed in Nushki, where weapons and ammunition were recovered, while one militant was killed in Khuzdar, where authorities said 490 kilograms of explosives were recovered.
Separately, Insurgent Zone reported that a Pakistan Army officer identified as Major Wajahat was killed in an incident in Pasni, with several other security personnel reportedly injured. The circumstances and the number of injured remain unclear; no official confirmation of the Pasni casualties was available in the supplied information.
ISPR said further security operations were continuing under the Azm-e-Istehkam counterterrorism campaign. War Monitor stressed that the military's operational figures and the separate Pasni casualty reports have not been independently verified.
