According to War Monitor, security forces and suspected militants exchanged fire in Basima, Balochistan, on Tuesday, October 20, leaving two people dead. They were identified as commander Ubaid Doda and his nephew Hikmat.
Weapons reportedly recovered
Citing security sources, the report said a substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered after the confrontation, and that forces were carrying out further clearance operations in the area.
The report did not say which group the two men belonged to, and there was no reaction from any organisation to the deaths.
Awaiting verification
War Monitor said the identities of those killed, the amount of weapons recovered and the circumstances of the gunfight have not been independently confirmed. Basima, in Washuk district, is among the parts of Balochistan where clashes between security forces and armed groups are reported from time to time.
