The banned Baloch Liberation Army-J (BLA-J) has claimed responsibility for a string of incidents across several districts of Balochistan, including attacks on police stations and checkpoints, abductions of security personnel, road blockades and vehicle seizures, according to War Monitor.
War Monitor published the details citing another monitoring platform, Insurgent Zone, and stressed that none of the claims had been independently verified. There was no immediate official statement on the incidents.
The areas named
According to the group's statements, a vehicle was seized and set on fire in Dalbandin, Chagai, and a police station in Yak Mach was destroyed with explosives on October 15. The group also claimed to have destroyed the Pankai police checkpoint in Qilla Abdullah.
In Karkh, Khuzdar, the group said it abducted serving security personnel during a road blockade on October 18, and blocked a CPEC-linked route in the same area, seizing a vehicle it said was carrying supplies for security forces.
Claimed killings of civilians
The statements also claim the killing of a non-local barber in Nushki and of other people in Barkhan and in the Patkan and Khokab areas of Kharan, whom the group accused of working for intelligence agencies or acting as informants. War Monitor said those allegations have not been substantiated, and the group's claims about damage and the number of people affected are also unverified.
Road blockades and the stopping of travellers or personnel by militant groups have been reported repeatedly in Balochistan in recent weeks, leaving ordinary people who travel through the province's remote areas fearful.
