According to War Monitor, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on the evening of Wednesday, October 22 announced a Rs 200,000 reward for members it says were involved in killing Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officer DSP Imranuddin in Karak district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the statement attributed to the group, its chief, Mufti Abu Mansoor Asim, authorised the reward, and the money is for members the TTP says took part in the attack in the Banda Daud Shah area. There has been no response so far from the government or police, and neither the reward announcement nor the circumstances of the attack have been independently verified.
The announcement follows the group's earlier claim of responsibility for the attack on police in Karak. War Monitor reported that DSP Imranuddin and SHO Afzal Awan were killed in an exchange of fire with suspected militants on October 22, and the TTP also claimed constable Kazim was killed.
