Clashes between Afghan forces and the Pakistani military were reported on Tuesday, October 27, at Angoor Adda, a crossing point on the Pak-Afghan border next to South Waziristan.
According to local sources, a Pakistani military depot at Angoor Adda caught fire during what they described as a retaliatory action by Afghan forces. The same sources claimed that a Pakistani soldier from Khairpur district in Sindh was killed, and said the exchange of fire was still continuing.
The reports are based on local sources and could not be independently verified. There was no immediate official statement from the ISPR or from the Afghan Taliban administration about the fighting.
The reported clashes come amid sharply rising tension between Islamabad and Kabul. Earlier this week the Foreign Office rejected Afghan Taliban claims of civilian casualties and repeated its demand that Kabul act against the banned TTP.
