The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed in a statement that a man named Qadeer was targeted and killed on Wednesday in Kulachi tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan, according to sources.
The statement alleges that he worked for the military and intelligence agencies, passed location details to drone operators and helped with raids. It also accuses him of involvement in the deaths of several militants.
Neither the details of the incident, the identity of the dead man nor the allegations against him have been independently verified, and Pakistani authorities have not issued an official position.
Dera Ismail Khan is among the 12 districts the federal government placed under a special emergency arrangement on 11 October, and reports of targeted killings and drone attacks from the area have become frequent in recent weeks.
