Peshawar — Local sources reported on September 28 that armed men had attacked the Uch Canal check post in the Urmar area of Peshawar.
The initial reports said police and the attackers were engaged in an exchange of fire and that the situation was still developing.
There was no independently confirmed information at publication time on casualties, the identity of the attackers or any claim of responsibility.
Separately, another incident was reported earlier on Monday within the jurisdiction of Urmar police station at the Shamshato check post. That report is being treated as a separate event unless further information links the two incidents.
