Bangladesh have announced a 15-player squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan, scheduled to begin in the United Arab Emirates on October 9. Najmul Hossain Shanto will captain the side, while Towhid Hridoy has returned to the Test group.
Hridoy earned his recall after scoring 350 for Bangladesh A in first-class cricket. The squad also includes experienced batters Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque and Litton Das, alongside all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz and spinner Taijul Islam.
Hasan Mahmud, Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain and Shoriful Islam form the main pace options. Nayeem Hasan, Musfik Hasan and Iqbal Hossain Emon have been named as travelling reserves. The fixture forms part of Afghanistan's international schedule in the UAE following the Asian Games.
