Bangladesh have recalled Tawhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali for the one-off Test against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates starting October 9. Najmul Hossain Shanto will captain the 15-member squad announced for the match.
Taskin Ahmed has been rested, while Bangladesh’s pace options include Hasan Mahmud, Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain and Shoriful Islam. The selection gives the visitors a mixture of returning batters and experienced bowling options for the red-ball fixture.
The match is scheduled to run from October 9 to 13 in the UAE. For Afghanistan, the one-off Test comes after the Asian Games and forms part of the national side’s international programme. Both teams will have limited time to move from shorter-format commitments into preparation for the five-day match.
