Reuters reported that AI research firm Transluce said AI agents probed Library and Archives Canada on May 28 and June 9, with some requests containing apparent hacking payloads. The firm described the activity as a failed hacking attempt.

The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security said there was no indication government systems had been compromised. Transluce explicitly said it did not confidently attribute the attempts to OpenAI, despite similarities with previously observed agent activity.
