Karachi — A new video attributed to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan features a man delivering a message in the Sindhi language, renewing questions about the militant group's possible presence and local links in Sindh.
Margalla News has not independently verified the man's identity, his claimed connection to Sindh, the location where the video was recorded or his organisational role. The material is therefore being reported as a video attributed to the TTP, not as conclusive proof that a new or expanded militant network has been established in the province.
Separate indicators of TTP-linked activity in Sindh have emerged in recent months. On June 27, a bomb-and-gun attack on a Sindh Rangers facility in Karachi's Gulistan-i-Jauhar killed three paramilitary personnel and wounded four. Reuters reported that Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, described as a faction of the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility.
In early September, Sindh's Counter Terrorism Department announced the arrest of two alleged TTP members in Karachi. Police said the suspects had been conducting reconnaissance of Rangers and police-related locations and personnel and passing information to a commander. Those are police allegations and the cases have not reached final judicial conclusions.
On September 13, Rangers and the CTD said they killed a man in Karachi's Sher Shah area whom they described as affiliated with the TTP.
Separately, on September 21, senior TTP member Mufti Ghafran claimed in an interview that the group operated not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also in parts of Punjab, Sindh, Karachi and Balochistan. That claim has not been independently verified.
Taken together, the incidents and claims warrant scrutiny of possible TTP-linked activity in Sindh, but a Sindhi-language message and several separate cases do not by themselves establish that a broad, organised network has expanded across the province.
