Afghanistan and Uzbekistan have discussed expanding cooperation in technical regulations, product standards and certification to make trade between the two countries easier.
Details released on September 25 said relevant officials from both countries discussed reducing technical barriers to bilateral trade and widening institutional cooperation in the field of standards.
The cooperation is intended to improve procedures related to product quality and make cross-border business easier for traders.
Uzbekistan is an important Central Asian market and transit partner for Afghanistan. Better alignment between the two countries' standards and certification systems could help Afghan products gain wider access to regional markets in the future.
