An Iranian parliamentary delegation arrived in Kabul on October 5 for talks focused on expanding trade and economic relations between Afghanistan and Iran. Pajhwok, citing the Afghanistan-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce, said the delegation is led by Mohsen Zanganeh, chairman of Iran's parliamentary commission supporting production.
The chamber said the delegation was received in Kabul by its head, Kamaluddin Tawhid, and is expected to meet several Afghan officials. Discussions are expected to cover bilateral trade, easier links between the two countries' private sectors and new areas for joint economic cooperation.
Afghanistan and Iran already have substantial commercial ties across fuel, food, transport and border trade. No major new investment package or binding agreement had been announced at the time of reporting.
