PESHAWAR: According to War Monitor, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for an overnight attack on Jankor police station in the former Frontier Region (FR) Peshawar.
In a statement issued on Friday, the group said the attack took place on October 15 and lasted around two hours. The TTP claims three police personnel were killed, four were injured and part of the station building was damaged.
The group also claimed an attack on Karbala Post in the same area but gave no casualty details for that incident.
War Monitor reports that the TTP has also claimed attacks on military posts at Kot Ghabrak, Gol Wal and Re Pange in South Waziristan between October 13 and 15. The group alleged heavy military losses in a clash at Pani Khel in Zarmilan and said later shelling killed five members of one family; responsibility for those civilian deaths has not been established.
There has been no official response to the claims, and none of them, including the casualty figures, has been independently verified. The original reports are on War Monitor and War Monitor's X post.
