Thursday brought encouraging signs for Pakistan tennis at the PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad. According to Dawn, Pakistan defeated Bhutan 3-0 in their second tie of the Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Group III (B) to keep their winning run going.

Experienced campaigners Ushna Suhail and Mahin Aftab Qureshi did not drop a game in singles. Ushna beat Tandin Dorji and Mahin beat Tenzin Wangsel Lhaden by identical 6-0, 6-0 scorelines, putting Pakistan in an unassailable position.

The doubles rubber offered a particularly hopeful moment. Romaisa Malik and Hajra Sohail, representing Pakistan in the Billie Jean King Cup for the first time, played with composure to beat Kinley Yangden and Tandin Tsheyang Wangmo 6-1, 6-4 and complete the clean sweep.

According to Abb Takk News, it was Pakistan's second straight 3-0 win, leaving them top of their group, and they face the Maldives in Islamabad on Friday.
