Dera Ismail Khan — Pakistani security sources claimed on Monday, September 28, that four suspected militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan.
Radio Pakistan and the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan reported that security sources described the men as members of “Fitna al-Khawarij,” a term Pakistani authorities use for militants linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
The sources claimed the suspects’ movements had been monitored before the operation and that a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, along with Afghan currency, was recovered afterward.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the operation and commended the security forces.
The reported deaths, recoveries and organisational affiliations have not been independently confirmed.
