Dera Ismail Khan — Pakistani security sources said on September 28 that four alleged militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Radio Pakistan and the Associated Press of Pakistan reported that security forces had monitored the suspects’ movements before carrying out the operation. The sources said a quantity of weapons and ammunition, along with Afghan currency, was recovered.
APP described those killed as belonging to “Fitna al-Khawarij”, terminology Pakistani authorities use for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and associated factions. The reported affiliation has not been independently verified.
The operation was reported as part of the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam counterterrorism framework. No independent casualty verification or identities of the four men were available at the time of publication.
