KAKUL: According to Dawn, Commander National Strategic Command General Aamer Raza addressed the passing-out parade of the Pakistan Military Academy's 154th Long Course and said there is no space for conflict or war in a nuclearised environment.
He said Pakistan's stance towards those with hostile designs across its borders was resolute and unambiguous, and that any miscalculation would be met with a response far beyond what the initiator imagined or calculated. The armed forces, he said, stood ready to defend every inch of the country.
The remarks follow Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's warning on Thursday that any fresh terrorist activity from across the border would invite a bigger strike than last time. Pakistan's Foreign Office had already rejected those comments as provocative a day earlier.
Gen Raza said adversaries were using calculated disinformation and narrative warfare in a 'post-truth era' to drive a wedge between the people and the armed forces. He said that after the failure of Operation Sindoor, they had escalated proxy terrorism and sub-conventional warfare.
He urged the new officers to stay steadfast and immune to malicious propaganda. Referring to the Middle East conflict, he said recent geopolitical shifts had underlined Pakistan's strategic importance, describing the Islamabad Accord and the Makkah Accord as parts of the same vision of durable peace.
He also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, saying Pakistan would continue its diplomatic, moral and political support.
