According to War Monitor, the banned Baloch Liberation Army–Azad (BLA-A) has claimed that 10 Pakistani security personnel were killed in a lengthy clash in the Dognan area of Balochistan's Chagai district on October 18, 2026. The figure is the group's own and has not been confirmed by any official or independent source.
A claimed hours-long gunfight
A statement attributed to the group's spokesman, Azad Baloch, says the fighting followed an alleged security operation and lasted several hours, with aerial support and artillery used. The group also alleged that civilians were hit by shelling, a claim that likewise remains unverified.
BLA-A acknowledged the deaths of two of its members, naming them as Javed alias Malang, from Dalbandin, and Kamal Khan alias Saddam Baloch, from Narmuk.
Video of a telecom tower attack
In a separate claim from the same district, the banned Baloch Nationalist Army (BNA) released footage saying it attacked a mobile telecom tower near the football ground in Chagai's main bazaar on the night of October 17. The group alleged the tower was controlled by the Inter-Services Intelligence. War Monitor says the authenticity of the video, the allegation about the tower and the extent of damage have not been confirmed.
No official response yet
There has been no statement from the ISPR or the Balochistan government on either claim. Chagai, which borders Iran and Afghanistan, has featured repeatedly in recent reports of militant activity.
