According to War Monitor, the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in the Balochistan port city of Gwadar was the target of a suspected suicide attack on Thursday. Initial reports alleged involvement of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), but this has not been confirmed, and no casualty details are available.
BLF claims 'Operation Almas'
The same day, War Monitor (X) reported that the banned Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for an attack on a Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) camp in Gwadar under the name 'Operation Almas'. It is not clear how the claim relates to the reported FC headquarters attack, and no official body has confirmed either.
Fruit trucks burned at border gate
From the Rimdan border area near Jiwani, also in Gwadar district, War Monitor cited local reports saying armed men attacked Trade Gate 250 on the Pakistan-Iran border and set fire to dozens of trucks carrying fresh fruit. Sources in the area also reported an exchange of fire between the attackers and security forces.
Local traders claimed dozens of privately owned vehicles were destroyed, with losses potentially running into hundreds of millions of rupees, but those estimates have not been independently verified. The attackers' identity and any casualties remain unclear.
Border closure backdrop
War Monitor says the attack came amid reports that Pakistan had kept the crossing closed for several days, though it is unclear whether the closure is linked to the attack. Authorities have not released details of the damage or an official account.
Latest: BLF releases video
On Thursday evening, War Monitor reported that the banned BLF had released footage it says shows a suicide car bombing at the entrance to an FC facility.
The location, casualties and authenticity of the footage remain unverified, and it is not clear whether it relates to the attack reported in Gwadar.
